OUR STORY
For more than three decades, SPI has been delivering custom, one-of-a-kind projects through a team of some of the industry’s most skilled innovators and problem solvers. Our story began in 1987 as a small, artisan-focused business specializing in sign lettering, automotive pinstriping, and custom shirt designs. As the business evolved, so did the craft, expanding into gold leafing, hand-painted graphics, and vehicle lettering.
As technology advanced and industry demands grew, the company transitioned into Sign Producers Inc., with Michael “Mike” Scime stepping into a leadership role. Mike brought a deep understanding of fabrication, painting, estimating, and project management — and a clear vision for growth. Under his guidance, the business quickly transformed from a specialty shop into a full-scale manufacturing facility, producing high-impact signage and custom fabricated elements for some of the world’s most iconic theme parks, restaurants, and resorts.
Since originally obtaining a Specialty Contractor License in 2004, SPI has steadily expanded its capabilities and reach, obtaining both a Florida Certified Electrical Specialty Contractor license and a Florida Certified General Contractor license. SPI is also a UL 48 Certified shop, authorized to manufacture and assemble electric signs that meet rigorous safety and performance standards set by the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Today, SPI supports large-scale themed entertainment projects around the world—always grounded in innovation, expert craftsmanship, and a commitment to delivering immersive, made-in-America experiences.
