SPI collaborated on a design-assist/build effort with Universal Orlando to help bring The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Ministry of Magic™ to life. Spanning eras from 1920s magical Paris to the 1990s British Ministry™, this immersive land invites guests to explore multiple generations of wizarding wonder.
SPI’s scope included engineering, design, fabrication, and installation of a full suite of exterior graphics—marquees, blade signs, and themed show graphics—each crafted to seamlessly blend into the richly detailed environment. Our team also provided critical early-phase support for secondary steel design and blocking coordination, ensuring that signage elements integrated flawlessly with the land’s complex architecture.
The project’s signature focal point is the towering, 30-foot Coup de Quidditch marquee. Serving as the first major landmark inside the Ministry of Magic-themed land, this marquee celebrates the wizarding world’s most beloved sport with grandeur and authenticity. Fabricated to evoke the aesthetic of 1920s magical Paris, it combines traditional channel lettering with historic theatrical styling. Each letter features a mix of static and chasing illumination and is treated with custom scenic finishes to achieve an authentically aged appearance.
This is more than signage—it’s immersive storytelling in scale, form, and light, uniting expert fabrication with the enduring magic of the Harry Potter universe.
